This is the blog of the myCBR project team. myCBR is an open-source, similarity-based retrieval tool (myCBR Workbench) and software development kit (myCBR SDK). Simply put, case-based reasoning  (CBR) is a problem solving paradigm where a new problem is solved by finding a similar past problem and adapting its solution to the new problem situation. Learn more about CBR on the CBR community wiki.

With myCBR Workbench you can model and test highly sophisticated, knowledge-intensive similarity measures in a powerful GUI and easily integrate them into your own applications. Case-based product recommender systems are just one example of similarity-based retrieval applications.

This project is a joint effort of the Competence Center Case-Based Reasoning at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI GmbH, Kaiserslautern, Germany, and the Centre for Intelligent Computing at the School of Computing and Technology, University of West London,UK.
